Vehicle sales: Top-selling cars, bakkies in SA

Cape Town - The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) has released its vehicle sales figures  for July 2016.

Despite the slump in the automotive industry, thousands of vehicles are sold each month.

We list the top-selling cars and bakkies in SA.

Vivo still No.1

The Polo Vivo remains South Africa’s best-selling car with a total of 2452 units sold.

The Ford Fiesta showed a huge increase of 1000 units, with 1740 units finding owners. It split the Vivo and standard Polo (third place, 1595 units).

Hilux continues its rise

The Toyota Hilux leads the overall sales charts with an impressive 3153 units sold. Ford’s Ranger clings to second-place behind the Hilux with a solid 2305 units finding owners.

The Isuzu KB comes in at number three with a sales figure of 1279.
