The "entry-level" Lamborghini Huracan supercar was launched in 2014, so it's surprising to see automaker looking at ways to improve it. However, the exotic market has become extremely competitive.
Not only is Ferrari's new 488 GTB much faster than the old 458, but Audi offers the same V10 as the Huracan in its carbon-infused R8 V10 Plus.
WORK IN PROGRESS
A test car spotted by spy photographers reveal changes planned for a new Huracan.
At the rear it has two extra exhausts behind some metal mesh camouflage. However, there aren't any measuring devices on the wheels, so the powertrain changes aren't going to be drastic.
Its new look shares a strong resemblance with the Huracan GT3 racecar.

The exact name for this special Huracan remains a mystery as the automaker tends to reserve its SV-moniker for V12 models, while its V10s receive the Superleggera title. The Blancpain decal on the door could suggest a relationship with either the GT3 or possibly Super Trofeo racers.
SV OR SUPERLEGGERA?
Instead of just using the S and V letters, pay attention to the Gallardo Superleggera launched at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. It only had another minor increase in power but the automaker shaved 100kg of weight resulting in its 0-100 km/h speed being reduced by 0.2 seconds, which is a lot for any supercar.
There was a hiatus of about five years between the regular version and the Superleggera while the Huracan is a year old. That's why this prototype could also preview something like a Squadra Corse, with a design inspired by race cars and downforce-enhancing aerodynamics.
