The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) reports that new vehicle sales declined in June 2019. Despite a drop in sales, 45 939 new models were sold locally.

The majority of readers (41%) value price above all other factors, followed by fuel consumption (21%) and maintenance/parts (17%). Only 4% valued vehicle "style".
