Johannesburg - Mahindra South Africa has launched its latest Pik Up in Gauteng.

The range comprises the S4 Single (R187 995) to the S10 4x4 (R354 995).

It features refreshed exterior styling, a new six-speed transmission, increased turbodiesel power with 103kW/320Nm and towing capacity of 2500kg.

The turbodiesel engine is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox (driving power to the rear wheels), and will also be available with 4x4 transmission (with low range). The entire range is fitted with a mechanical locking differential as standard.

The upgrade, with its aggressively-styled exteriors and plush interiors includes a complete overhaul of the Pik Up's aesthetics, with emphasis on the front-end styling, says the automaker.

Redesigned bakkie

The grille, headlights, bonnet and foglights have all undergone a substantial redesign.

The headlights on either side of the grille are also new along with curved LEDs for the S10 Double Cab. New fog lights are mounted in restyled apertures that are linked to the lower edge of the headlights. The redesigned front-end styling is accompanied by 16" alloy wheels.

The cabin of the Pik Up has undergone upgrades as part of the new model line-up. Perhaps the most obvious improvements is its upholstery and the 15cm full colour touch screen display on the S10 Double Cab models located in the centre console.

As the flagship model of the range, the S10 Double Cab benefits from advanced features such as remote central locking, cruise control, navigation and a multifunction steering wheel.

The upgrade doesn't end here. With smart features like auto wipers and intelligent headlights the vehicle promises to take the customer experience to the level next of comfort and performance.

Safety items

Safety features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags, crash protection crumple zones and Collapsible steering column will be standard features on some of the models.

There are three head rests in rear and three-point seat belts for all seats along with 2 Isofix anchors in rear seat for all Double Cab S10 models.
