'Purchased Friday, totalled on Saturday' - driver crashes McLaren sports car worth R3.9-million a day after it was bought

Imagine crashing your new car the day after you purchased it. Now imagine it's a sports car worth millions.

Authorities report that a driver crashed a McLaren 720, 24hrs after purchasing the blisteringly fast sports car.

According to The Washington Postthe crash occurred during the early hours of July 14 when the car crashed into a tree in Fairfax County. Parts of the vehicle were scattered everywhere.

Just not his day

Fortunately the driver did not sustain serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Local police estimates the McLaren to be valued at around R3.9-million ($300 000).
