In what is no surprise, the Toyota Hilux ended the last month of 2019 as the best-selling bakkie in South Africa.

The Hilux, the perennial front runner when it comes to sales in SA, ended the month on 3 080 units sold. This is well-clear of the second-placed Ford Ranger on 1724 units.

Hilux remains king

Isuzu's D-Max/KB sold 1355 units, followed by the Nissan NP300/Hardbody on 839 units.

The Nissan NP200, however, sold a rather poor 498 units in December 2019.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up found favour with 278 new owners, followed by the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up - 165 units sold.

Nissan's Navara saw 117 units roll off showroom floors, and GWM's Steed closes out the top ten on 109 units.
