The car salesman lie detector
Picture this, you're listening to a car salesperson rattle
on about a supposedly good deal but you not sure whether you're buying a great car or a clunker in disguise. What you need is HPI vehicle specialists lie-detector app.
According to the vehicle specialist, it's new app "draws on expertise from signal processing, voice biometrics, speech coding and pattern matching," to enable potential car-buyers to determine whether a car seller is trying to deceive them.
This app would be fantastic though perhaps HPI could increase its scope to cover traffic cops, insurers and politicians...
Wheels24 gives this a 7/10 in our arbitrary 2014 April Fools' Day ratings.
Build your own Honda...at home
Ever wanted to build your own Honda in the comfort of your own home? Well, now you can thanks to a DIY Jazz kit. Honda’s hilarious 2014 April Fool’s joke sees Vanessa and Caleb, self-professed 'tinkerers', purchasing a Jazz kit. Apparently it's so easy to put together you don't need the professionals or a factory…

The RSPCA has apparently partnered with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to teach rescue dogs to drive.
Over the past two months, three mixed-breed dogs, Tulip, Jacob and Harry, have been taught to drive a Volkswagen Amarok by the animal welfare charity.
Amazingly the dogs have learned to control the brakes, gears and even the steering wheel. You must be barking mad?

Fur-covered Yeti anyone?
We've seen fur-lined interiors but a fur-covered chasis? The Yeti Ice, sporting a faux fur design, was created Skoda engineers working in the Himalayas.
Designer of the Yeti Ice Dr Yu Ciddingme said: "The fur is so thick and luxurious that during our tests in the arctic circle, our test drivers didn’t need to use the heater.”

Honda's baby riders
Finally, Honda announced the introduction of a nepotistic youth policy designed to enhance development and ensure continuity of its World Championship racing programme.
At the World Superbike championship test taking place in Jerez, regular riders Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea will hand over their Honda CBR1000RR SP racing machines to their respective baby sons.
Well that's one way to ensure future Honda champs.

Barracuda – A rebadge dodge dart?
A source at a large “monthly automotive publication” noticed that the "boss man" was making sure only a select few saw the inside of a new issue. When he happened across a stray copy he was as shocked to see the Barracuda would return as a rebadged Dodge Dart.
The source captured a few images and sent them to Topspeed.com. The Barracuda features the same Fiat Compact platform as the Dart and Chrysler 200, but with some extra performance goodies.
According to Topspeed.com: "So there you have it folks; Fiat has struck again by releasing another Chrysler icon from the muscle car years as a front-driven sedan, a la the Dodge Dart. We’ll go bury our heads in the sand until the NYIAS is over..."
