Audi has revealed plans to release two limited edition models and overhaul its Quattro division to better compete at the higher end of the luxury segment.

More luxurious versions of the Q7 full-sized SUV and R8 V10 sports car will be sold in very limited quantities in Russia and the United Arab Emirates, respectively.

The Q7 for Russia will reportedly have a two-tone black exterior finish and will limit the consignment of V12 models to 555 units.

Similarly, 40 units of the R8 V10 Pure Sport will be making their way to the UAE.

Special edition models are being considered for the UK and the US, Bloomberg reports.

And with the revamp of Audi’s high-performance Quattro unit underway, Ingolstadt hopes up to 20 percent of its vehicles sold globally will be exclusive and made-to-order models.

Audi plans to spend more than R90 billion on new plants, products and technologies until 2015, with the view of overthrowing BMW as the world’s largest luxury car manufacturer.
