LONDON, England - The car Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel hope will revive the team’s Formula 1 fortunes through 2015 will be called the SF15-T, the team said on Monday (Jan 26).
The sport's most successful - and oldest - team did not win a race in 2014, its first such blank since 1993. It finished the 2014 season in fourth.
WHAT'S IN A NAME
Ferrari explained on its website that the designation stood for Scuderia Ferrari, followed by the year, then T for turbo.
Its 2014 car was the F14T.
The car will be launched officially online on Friday (Jan 30 2015) before its test debut in Jerez, Spain, on Feb 1 with four-times F1 Drivers’ champion Sebastian Vettel, who has moved from Red Bull, teamed with Kimi Raikkonen.
The season will start in Melbourne, Australia on March 15
