The new Volkswagen Golf is probably one of the most anticipated cars of the year. The new Golf 8's GTI version will be the first model of the range to arrive here locally towards the end of 2020.
Volkswagen released an online commercial earlier in March (Tuesday, March 3) and viewers are loving it, but what's even more exciting is that the international ad has been filmed on home ground, right here at Killarney Raceway - Cape Town's home of motorsport events.
The new model would have been revealed at the cancelled 2020 Geneva auto show, but we think this ad is way better in any case.
The ad features an immaculate Mk1 GTi version going up against the latest offering. You can't help grin a stupid smile as you watch the ad, as both feelings of nostalgia and adrenaline fill your soul. The new GTI will feature the EA888 (evo4) 2.0-litre turbocharged engine good for 180kW and 370Nm.
