Maldonado crash halts qualifying

BARCELONA, May - A high speed crash involving Lotus' Pastor Maldonado interrupted qualifying for the 2014 Spanish Grand Prix just six minutes into the opening session.

Q1 was red-flagged to a halt as the car and debris were cleared from the circuit.

The driver walked away unhurt despite an impact that saw the front right section of his severely damaged.
