HONG KONG - The Infiniti brand will reveal a Formula 1-inspired concept car based on the Q50 premium sports saloon at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The concept will be unveiled during Infiniti’s news media conference, on January 13.
The car is Infiniti’s design vision of a high-performance variant of the Q50 has been named Q50 Eau Rouge after the world-famous corner at the Formula 1 track in Spa-Francorchamps which requires extraordinary strength, courage and commitment from drivers.
'KEY PILLAR OF DNA'
Infiniti says the Q50 Eau Rouge concept blends road car technology with a thoroughbred motorsport vision and will carry aerodynamic styling and design elements influenced by the brand's partnership with Formula 1 championship-winning team Red Bull Racing.
Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti’s executive design director, said: "Performance is a key pillar of Infiniti’s DNA and this car expresses a deepened design interpretation of that. The Q50, with an abundance of technologies, provides a great base for an extreme performance version."
