2012-10-31 13:37

PAIRING UP WITH... Nico Hulkenberg will replace Sergio Perez at Sauber in 2013. As for his team mate, Sauber will still need to decide on whether to replace Kamui Kobayashi.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Sauber has confirmed Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg as one of its two drivers for the 2013 Formula 1 season.

Hulkenberg made his F1 debut in 2010 with Williams and took a pole position that year. As a Force India driver, Hulkenberg is 12th in the Drivers' championship, his best finish in 2012 fourth at the Belgian GP.

'WELL-PLACED TEAM'

Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez drive for Sauber. The team said in a statement it would announce a second driver later in 2012 as Perez will move to McLaren in 2013 to replace Lewis Hamilton.

Hulkenberg said he was "really looking forward to working with the Sauber F1 team. It's a well-placed team and very competitive".
