2013 Australian GP: Practice 1

MELBOURNE, Australia - Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull set the pace in Melbourne ahead of the 2013 Australian F1 GP.

Vettel set a lap time of 1min27.211, followed closely by Ferrari's Felipe Massa (1min27.289) and his team mate Fernando Alonso (1min27.547).

Mercedes' new recruit Lewis Hamilton was fourth-quickest (1min27.552) followed by Red Bull's Mark Webber (1min27.668) and Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen (1min27.877) in fifth and sixth place respectively.

There was relatively little action for the first part of the session as teams opted to preserve their tyres.
