COLOGNE, Germany - Ducati’s 2013 range will include updates to the Diavel and Superbike ranges, special anniversary versions for the Monster models and two first-ever public appearances – the 2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 and the brand new 1199 Panigale RS13 race machine.
Ducati is at the Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany, where it announced its presence with a riot of new and updated models.
'NEW ERA WITH VW'
Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio said: “Ducati as entered a new era.
“Being part of such a prominent and significant group as Volkswagen makes us look to the future with confidence and optimism and we are very happy to be here at Intermot with so many new products to present,” Del Torchio continued.
“Despite today’s severely shrinking market, Ducati continues to show positive growth, and since 2007 has consistently increased its market share and further strengthened its financial position. 2011 was a record year in the history of Ducati and we expect to continue our growth in 2012.

“Our 2013 motorcycles, such as the new Multistrada 1200, demonstrate the consistency of our development strategies and today I am especially proud to present our new Monster Anniversary, a celebration of the glorious history of this iconic model in the Ducati family.”
Claudio Domenicali, general manager of Ducati, further added, “Twenty years have passed since the presentation of our first Ducati Monster, right here at Intermot.
“This model redefined the parameters of the naked segment and our new Monster Anniversary is dressed in the original livery of that very first version and applied to the whole range of latest-generation Monsters.”
First introduced in Cologne in 1992, the iconic naked Monster family now reaches a milestone 20 years of production that Ducati has chosen to celebrate with special 20th Anniversary editions of its latest 696, 796 and 1100EVO models. Along with the exclusive Monster Diesel, the range of lifestyle motorcycles are finished in special liveries, have fresh colour finishes and additional distinguishing features.
“In addition to the Monster Anniversary, we have brought a number of interesting new products to Cologne.
RACE PREVIEW
These include the 2013 Multistrada 1200, an evolution of the four-bikes-in-one concept that also sports the motorcycle maker’s Ducati Skyhook Suspension system, and the Diavel range where the range-topping model, the Diavel Carbon, is now offered exclusively in carbon red while the standard Diavel gets three new colour options and the Diavel Dark is finished in matte black and two “street-sport” schemes finished in metallic blue and Ducati red with white stripes and white wheels.
Furthermore, the Ducati Superbike line-up sees the addition of arctic white versions of its 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S models.
Ducati’s 1199 Panigale RS13, the Ducati Corse-prepared machine, also breaks cover for the first time at Intermot. It previews the full race version of Ducati’s top-of-the range sportbike model, which is now ready for teams to prepare for competition in the 2013 World Superbike series.
Intermot is now open to the public and will run until October 7, 2012.
