Audi seals Ducati deal

CHANGES AT AUDI, DUCATI: Rupert Stadler, CEO of Audi (pictured here at the world debut of the Audi A3 at the 2012 Geneva auto show) has been appointed president of the board of Ducati as the motorcycle maker's acquisition was completed.
Audi’s acquisition of Italian motorcycle maker Ducati has been completed, the companies have announced.
The sale was completed through Audi’s Lamborghini.
CHANGE IN THE BOARDS
In announcing the completion of the sale, the companies also announced changes to their respective boards of directors. Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler has been appointed president of the Ducati board, alongside Horst Glaser and Axel Strotbek of Audi, and Gabriele Del Torchio and Claudio Domenicali from Ducati.
Del Torchio was also appointed CEO of Ducati and appointed to the Lamborghini board.
Founded in 1926, Ducati machines are sold in over 80 countries around the world. Ducati also competes in the World Superbike Championship and fields a factory team in the MotoGP championship.
