The Western Cape transport department is asking "men to man up and slow down", with its road safety campaign - #ManUpSlowDown.
The video shows an injured, female passenger speaking about her partner's reckless driving, emulating the terrible abuse suffered by many women in South Africa.
The ad was originally aired 2017 in support of 16 Days of Activism to end violence against women and Children. For 2018, the department has refreshed its campaign for Women's Day to highlight the ongoing scourge of reckless driving in South Africa.

The department said: "Women are better drivers than men, partly because they speed less. Last year in the Province, for example, 13 male drivers were killed for every female driver. Sadly, women are often the victims of male drivers who speed: it can be a form of abuse, especially when women are injured as a result. So while you are celebrating women this Women’s Day, take a moment to reflect on how far we all still have to go, on and off the road."
