WATCH | Seven of the best mile-munching cars

Now that some lockdown measures have been eased and more people are taking to the roads, it's likely that drivers will need to travel further afield than they have over the previous few months. 

We will bet that many South Africans are relishing the first chance they get to venture out. Heck, at Wheels24 we echo your sentiments, and together with the team from the Press Association have come up with a list of cars that devour the kilometres. 

There are several cars featured that are from varying segments, from the  BMW 5 Series to Mercedes-Benz's flagship SUV, the GLS. 

For those who have money to burn on the only fully-electric car with usable range there's the Jaguar I-Pace to consider. It offers seating for five, a huge boot and scintillating acceleration. 

And lastly, if you're after a machine with flair and passion it has to be Alfa Romeo Giulia. Available with a 2.0-litre turbopetrol engine or a 2.9-litre V6 biturbo in the sporty QV derivative it's sure to keep you smiling for every kilometre.
