Amid the coronavirus pandemic entering Level 3 restrictions, we still need to limit human contact by practising physical distancing for a long time to come.

Keeping your distance

Where possible, people should still try and travel by themselves or in small numbers in a vehicle to further curb the spread of the virus.

Most cars can accommodate five people, including the driver, but imagine there was a way you could travel all by yourself and sticking to your distancing parameters at all times without making passengers feel bad.

Several manufacturers have built specialised single-seated vehicles. There probably is no better way to be by yourself behind the wheel during this time.

These single-seaters are perfect to drive to curb the spread of Covid-19:

1. McLaren F1 GTR 'Longtail'

The factory version of the McLaren F1 GTR does have more than one seat - three in fact - but this is the race-bred version where only a single seat is required, and also helps to reduce the weight of the vehicle.

2. Rinspeed Advantage R-one

The somewhat odd and futuristic design of the Rinspeed Advantige R-one made its debut back at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and was the creation of designer Frank Rinderknecht.

The concept car positions the driver's seat close to the ground.

3. BAC Mono

Many people know about the Ariel Atom, but this is its single-seater rival - the BAC Mono. Throw a total weight of 540kg and an engine weighing 227kW together, and you have figures of supercar proportions.
