Hot shots, young riders welcome SA's Brad Binder to MotoGP

Brad Binder will become the first South African to race in the four-stroke era of motorbike racing.

The 2016 Moto3 champion signed a one-year deal with KTM to partner with Miguel Oliveira in the Tech 3 team, according to Autosport.com

Binder occupies eighth place in the Moto2 riders' championship after two podium finishes in consecutive races.

The 23-year-old said: "I want to say a huge thank you to KTM, Red Bull KTM Tech3, my manager and my family for helping me get to the premier class and to be able to give it a try."
