Cape Town - The Ford Mustang is the best-selling sports car in South Africa and towers over its rivals during March 2018.
Though the Ford Mustang proved popular (56 units) it was nearly toppled by the Porsche 911. Porsche sold a eye-raising 47 911s locally. It may not seem like much but considering the 911's price point compared to Ford's pony car, it is a great effort by the German sports carmaker.
812 hotcakes
The Porsche 718 Cayman/Boxster is the third sports car to register double digit sales figures on 33 units sold. In fourth place is the Ferrari 488 Spider on six units.
The biggest drop in the list in terms of units sold is the Jaguar F-Type, which managed only 4 units though sits pretty in fifth place. The Ferrari 812 SuperFast, the most expensive vehicle in Ferrari’s current line-up, found favour among three new owners.
The Nissan GT-R (three units) is in seventh place, followed by the BMW i8 (three units).
The Ferrari 488 GTB and Alfa Romeo 4 C round out the top ten. Both vehicles sold two units each.
