It's facelift time for Alfa Romeo with new engines and a fresh burst of Italian style being added to the Mito mix.
Not much changes externally for the charming Mito but a number of new engines are big news for the range.
In Europe's markets, a new eight-valve 1.4-litre engine with 58kW on tap and start/stop technology as standard, promises lower emissions and excellent fuel consumption is offered, while a 78kW 1.4 MultiAir provides extra bite. A 1.3-litre JDT turbodiesel is also available there.
Exact engine details for South Africa-bound Mitos could not be gleaned from Alfa Romeo's local representatives. However, they mentioned that the 1.4 T-Jet engine would be dropped from the local line-up but would give no indication of its replacement.
Cosmetically, the updated Mito range becomes available in the new Metal Bronze colour previewed at the 2011 Geneva auto show. Certain models can also be specified with matching Sprint Bronze upholstery.
