The 22-year-old, who would be the first American involved in a grand prix since Michael Andretti in 1993, will test the RB1 at Silverstone on Wednesday and a decision will be taken thereafter, team principal Christian Horner said.
"It's great," Scott said. "F1 and the crowd and all the things that go with it are awesome, but ultimately you are still trying to go fast."
Speed's Silverstone run will be his second time in an F1 car.
The Californian continued: "It's quite a different driving style to the GP2 cars, so it requires experience." -GMM
