Reader's story: A million milestones in my Nissan Champ

Cape Town - Earlier in May 2016 Wheels24 published an article on a Nissan Hardbody 2.4 that covered over 1.5-million kilometres.

Wheels24 reader, Elder Mushiyeni Montja, wrote in to us to share his story of his beloved 'Hummer', a Nissan 1400 Champ bakkie that covered over a million kilometres the past eight years.

Montja says: After reading your story about the Nissan Hardbody, I felt compelled to share the story about my stock-standard Nissan 1400, aka 'Hummer'.

I bought my Hummer in April 2008 and to date we have covered over a million kilometres, and counting, together.

No modifications have been made to the bakkie's body or its engine.

Montja says his bakkie was stolen once, but thank God it was recovered. He says: "Despite one minor accident and having to respray the damaged panel, Hummer is still going strong.

This Nissan is a part of our family and its reliability and fuel consumption makes it a pleasure to drive. Viva my Hummer!
