'It’s amazing to drive' - Here's why this reader bought herself a brand new VW T-Cross

Volkswagen South Africa launched its highly-anticipated T-Cross 'baby SUV' earlier in September, and it's already selling like hotcakes.

Naamsa reported a whopping total of 810 models sold of the 1.0-litre TSI version. And, it's no surprise as its a great-looking vehicle with loads of character, and also a breath of fresh air for the VW stable.

Wheels24 reader Natasha Xavier, a marketing executive from Johannesburg, just bought herself a new Volkswagen T-Cross. She tells us everything she likes about it, and the bits that's not favourite, and could use some improvement.

Xavier said before she set out to buy a new vehicle, there was a list of items that needed to meet the criteria:
"Coming from a much older car (10 years old), I did not have the luxury of Bluetooth, navigation or USB ports.  I had a standard vehicle that still had a CD player and an aux point, so my criteria was simple.

 • I wanted a cool looking modern car, something that shouted sporty, yet sophisticated
 • Sit higher up – so an SUV rather than a sedan
 • Bluetooth
 • Navigation
 • Safe and reliable
 • Maintenance plan
 • Fuel efficient
 • Brand new off the showroom floor (first time in my life), and I was not going to compromise
