Hijacking in SA: 'Quick thinking saved our lives!'

Earlier in May, Wheels24 reported on a driver's quick reaction which saved them from a potential armed robbery and/or hijacking. The video was published on YouTube.

Wheels24 reader Susanna Nel shares her harrowing experience:

Nel says: As my husband came home from work one evening, a silver/grey Mercedes-Benz and a white BMW pulled up behind him in our driveway.

As the electric gate started to close, one of the hijackers pushed the gate open. I saw this, screamed hysterically and waved my arms to alert my husband of the impending danger!

He looked in his rear-view mirror, saw what was going on and reversed the car into the oncoming hijacker - pinning him between the car and the wall.

As my husband got ready to ram the hijacker into the wall for a second time, the other hijackers came to their accomplice’s aid, dragged him to their vehicle and sped away.

Yes, the assailants had guns and were pointing it at me, but luckily the Lord had His guiding hand over us and prevented the criminals from hurting us.
