After months of delays and talks with goverment, the Gauteng e-toll system will be implemented, the transport minister reported.
We've had many responses to the etolling announcement. Reader Zabulon Mafaesa e-mailed us to share his thoughts on the Gauteng e-toll plan:
E-tolling is really disgusting, it peels off the poor and enriches the rich. Poor people were not consulted before it was started now we have to suffer because of someone‘s bad decision.
"THEIR OWN BABY TO NURSE"
Let the decision makers carry the burden, it's their own baby to nurse. We were not part of the whole thing.
Every year we are paying R387 for the licence light vehicle now we have to pay R550 on monthly basis which makes a total R6600 P/A.
Does it really make sense? Look at these figures R387P/a + R6600 p/a!
How on earth are we going to make it?
