It's the end of the road for the iconic Volkswagen hippie van as production of the Kombi ceases in its last bastion - Brazil. In September 2013, Wheels24 reported that production of the legendary Kombi will end on December 31.
Safety regulations mandate that every vehicle in Brazil must have air bags and anti-lock braking systems starting in 2014, and the automaker said it cannot change production to meet the law.

“Read your great article on the VW kombi and would like to share with you a photo of our 1974 Baywindow Kombi named "Nara" towing our 1982 fleetline caravan.
We have had it since February 2013. It was purchased from the original owner who has had the Kombi when it was brand new.
The Kombi is lots of fun to drive and really turns heads wherever it goes.
