Put a BMW V8 engine into the body of a MK4 VW Golf GTI and what do you have? An insane rear-wheel-drive drift machine.
In a bid to extract more power, tuners resort to engine swaps as a means to an end. In this case, the guys from Hoonigan Daily Transmission took a VW Golf GTI Mk4 and chucked a V8 down its throat.
Sleeper danger
The BMW engine in question here is the M62 from a 540i and kicks out a healthy 205kW and 315Nm which is more than enough muscle to light up the rear tyres.

As expected, plenty of mechanical and fabrication work went into this build while there are a number of components still retained from the Volkswagen stable like the suspension.
It is downright weird to see a Golf's rear wheels smoking up but in this case all is forgiven. Turn up the volume and listen to this 8-cylinder madness.
