Stunt rider Travis Pastrana broke the long-standing triple-jump record held by Evel Knievel, leaping over 52 cars, 16 buses and clearing the huge fountain in front of Caesars Palace casino.

According to Historyon his first jump attempt, he leapt 52 cars while on his second jump he cleared 16 buses compared to 14 buses that Knievel leapt over.

The stage was set for the third and final jump. 

Evel missed the jump back in 1967 but Pastrana succeeded where the veteran stunt rider failed.
