Vehicles across the board have all featured names from various sources. Though some are easy to understand, there are a few strange origins on occasion. Here are a handful of those oddities...

For example, did you know the popular Toyota Yaris name is derived from a combination of Greek and German mythology, taking 'charis' which relates to goddesses with qualities such as charm and beauty, and swaps the 'Ch' for 'Ya'- signifying 'ja', German for yes.

Nissan's funky Juke crossover has its name derived from 'Jukebox' and used because it's linked to youthful freedom and being daring.

Ever wondered how South Korean carmaker Ssangyong decided on the name Rexton for their SUV? Well, the Latin 'Rex' and English 'tone' are combined to create the name intended to mean 'the rulers tone'.
