Audi's RS badge has gained a large following over the past 25 years, ever since Ingolstadt teamed up with Porsche to produce the RS2 Avant.

Manufactured in Zuffenhausen, the RS2 used a modified 2.2-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine (built by hand) producing 232kW and 410Nm complete with a six-speed manual gearbox.

0-100km/h was quoted at 4.8 seconds, that's quick, even by today's standards. A few examples even made their way to South Africa, despite the limited run of 2891 cars. Only 180 were right-hand-drive examples built for the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and South African markets.

Fast forward to 2020 and there are a plethora of RS-badged Audis, from the RS3 hatchback to the RS5 coupe and the S4 Avant.

We've driven the latest RS4 and RS5 models and are patiently waiting to have a go in the new RS6 Avant headed to South Africa later this year.

Which Audi is the fastest?

The team at CarWow has lined up some fast Audis and pitted them against each other in a drag race. And like the RS2, all the cars feature the firm's all-wheel-drive system.

Watch which Audi takes the honours below:
