There is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a car that has been in the family for years wasting away.
A touching video from Wonder World tells the story of Tommy who decided to restore his parents' 1973 Ford XA Superbird that was effectively written off after his father crashed it into a ditch and wasn't in a position to repair the damage.
The car was left rusting for almost 20 years.
Patience and lots of elbow grease
It wasn't until 2013 that Tommy began the painstaking restoration process where the car was sent from one workshop to the next to repair the major body damage, which also involved sourcing an entirely new roof.
Tears were shed and memories were relived as they saw the completed product. His parent's did not want it but instead wanted him to pass it down to his son someday.
