A golf cart's sole purpose is to transport passengers across a golf course but there are some that think it is a personal race car, despite the fact that most carts can only reach speeds up to 24km/h.

The video above demonstrates why you shouldn't drive a golf cart as if it's a real road-legal vehicle.

There have been clips where some people launch the cart through the air, via a small hill and crashing into the turf, wrecking the cart in the process.

When golf becomes too boring..

Maybe the sport becomes too boring that cart drivers use the time behind the wheel to liven things up a bit. Or maybe they just like falling flat on their face.

Then you get those who take golf carts to a whole other level by fitting an engine to it and breaking records. One particular cart registered a speed of 189km/h.

While accidents and crashes in general is not fun at all, at least the people behind the wheel don't hurt themselves too much. Maybe just a bruised ego.
