WATCH | BMW M8 Competition vs M5 Competition

The M8 Competition and M5 Competition share the same engine, have a weight difference of 15kg and put their power down via all four wheels. 

BMW fans will love the latest video from the team at Carwow, they're putting the new M8 Coupé up against arguably the best high-performance sedan, the M5 in a drag race. 

Both cars employ the high-revving S63 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine producing 460kW and 750Nm, the car maker's most powerful engine to date. 

The M5 Competition features stiffer springs, an increased front camber, and a lower ride height compared to the regular M5.

It's also the first generation of the performance saloon to feature all-wheel-drive, although there is an option to move all the power to the rear wheels.
