Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Are you telling me that you built a time machine… out of a DeLorean?

Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you’re gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?

Fans of the 1985 classic Back to the Future will be familiar with this dialogue, but the star of the show here is the famous DMC Delorean used in the movie.

James Napier has to be the coolest dad in the world to students at his children's school. Why? Because of the car they get picked up in everyday.

Daddy cool

According to ITV News, the dad of three from Wickford, Essex spent £80 000 (about R1.5-million) converting a DMC DeLorean into a replica of the iconic star of the cult film. He initially bought it for £55 000 (about R1-million), and spent five months bringing the car to life.

Every detail from the on-screen version has been carefully replicated in James' version. From the time loop numbers inside the car to the transformer in the rear, no expense has been spared here.

Marty McFly and Dr Emmett Brown would definitely give this modern version a stamp of approval.
