Cape Town - Ask any petrolhead which track they'd want to drive before they leave earth and Germany's famed Nordschleife aka The Green Hell will definitely be on that list.
The 20.8km track is open to members of the public and many driving enthusiasts are enthralled by the motorsport heritage, and lack of a blanket speed limit on the track.
Pesky drivers in the way
We came across this clip of this brave driver and his passenger winding their way through the damp track.
According to the uploader nordschleife96, the BMW M3 CSL he was riding shotgun in is one of the quickest CSL's around the track and despite a few obstacles (natural and human) the driver still managed to set a sub-eight minute lap in the car.
But not any beast can handle what the Nordschleife throws at it, especially when it's raining and the tyres you're using are 100 laps old and there are two prudent drivers making things difficult , says nordschleife96.
And while the CSL is already a stripped-out version of the one of the best M3's ever to be made, this particular car was fettled by Schirmer and has optimised engine parts, an updated ECU, as well as a nitron suspension and rides on Pirelli Trofeo R semi slicks.
This lairy CSL proved to be a precision tool in these conditions thanks to heroic driving.
