While schools are closed across South Africa, Rolls-Royce is giving learners the chance to both be proactive and counter the lockdown blues.

How? By running a competition whereby the winning learner will get the chance to be chauffeured to school in one of Rolls-Royce's brand new cars.

The 'Young Designer Competition' encourages aspiring designers to bring their automotive dreams to life by drawing, what they think, the future of Rolls-Royce will look like. And, says Rolls-Royce, the designers are encouraged to let their imaginations and creativity run free.

The marque's Design team will judge all entries and select an overall winner, who will receive a rendered illustration of their design, as well as a chauffeur-driven journey in a Rolls-Royce Phantom for their first day back to school, with their best friend.

SA learners, listen up!

This competition, normally forms part of the annual Rolls-Rolls employees' Family Day Celebration, held at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, has been adjusted given the Covid-19 pandemic that’s swept across the globe.

Rolls-Royce’s local distributor, Daytona, also took up this competition and encourages South African learners to take up the challenge.

Speaking to Wheels24, Daytona said: "We would like to encourage South African entries to be sent to us via our social media channels and we will decide on our own winner. The prize will be a chauffeur drive to school, and a visit to the showroom and workshop with lunch for the whole family."

Important: Entries must be submitted by Monday, May 18, 2020. The competition is open for pupils up to the age of 16.
