Automakers are best-known for producing cars but some of them are in the business of creating other products too.

Not all vehicle manufacturers started out by producing cars, things likes electrical appliances and hardware was the initial income source. The motoring division was usually established after the successes of the original business venture.

Before their cars became a vital part of production, Honda first built lawnmowers, and then tried their hand in the automotive world which has since become a success.

Bugatti is well known for making the fastest cars in the world with the Veyron, Divo, and Chiron but they also make exclusive, and very expensive, hookah pipes.

The list of automakers are actually a lengthy one featuring the likes of Lexus, Toyota, and even Aston Martin. Can you guess what sort of products they also make besides cars?

So the next time you see something bearing an automaker's name other than on a car, its not your eyes playing tricks on you.

Below are a few examples:

1. Mitsubishi - Home air conditioning

D-Max, Eclipse Cross and Lancer - those are names of Mitsubishi cars but they are also known for producing home electrical appliances with their Mitsubishi Electric division.

This side of the brand started its life in 1921 with the introduction of an electric fan, and has gone on from strength to strength since then with a host of air-conditioning systems for residential, commercial, and industrial use.

2. Volkswagen - Sausages

We know them for giving us the likes of the Golf, Passat and Tiguan but other than automobiles, Volkswagen is also known for making currywurst sausages, which has been operating since 1973.

In 2017, the company made 6.8-million currywurst sausages in total which was more than the number of vehicles the brand sold worldwide that year. Vrrr phaa comes in all shapes and sizes it seems.

3. Peugeot - Pepper grinder

Before Peugeot became a world-renowned automaker, they first manufactured coffee grinders and pepper mills. This was back in the 1800s when the idea of making the brand's first car was still far away.

Their pepper-mill business is still in existence today.
