Is your child a car-drawing Picasso? Entries open for Toyota SA's Dream Car Art Contest

Toyota South Africa Motors has announced the 13th annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. Entries have officially opened for this year’s instalment and will close on March 1 2019.

The contest is a Toyota initiative aimed at encouraging children to explore their creativity and transport their imagination beyond our physical confines.

Dreams through art

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is intended to create opportunities for children throughout the world to develop their interest in cars and help them feel the joy and importance of having a dream through drawing pictures of their dream cars.

The contest was visualised by Toyota President and CEO Akio Toyoda, who wanted to create a platform to teach children to use the power of dreams and imagination as well as stimulate their interest in cars.

Children from all over the world are invited to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. Toyota hopes that this activity will help nurture the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers and dreamers.

The competition is comprised of the National and the World Contest. The National Contest is held in each participating countries till March 2019.

The top five contestants win prizes on a national level and the top three in each category are subsequently entered into the international competition which is judged in Japan with Akio Toyoda.

Contestants stand a chance to win the following awards for all three categories:

• 1st Place: PS4 to the value of R7 000 and R8 000 Cash

• 2nd Place: PS4 to the value of R7 000

• 3rd Place: Xbox One to the value of R5 000

• 4th Place: Tablet to the value of R3 000

• 5th Place: Makro Voucher to the value of R2 000

The school which submits the most valid entry forms stands a chance to win one of the following cash prizes:

• 1st Prize: R15 000

• 2nd Prize: R10 000

• 3rd Prize: R5000
