Is it the real thing or cement covered in gold? Here's the difference between real and replica models

Cars come in various shapes and forms but there are a quite a few that borrow DNA from the original versions.

So how do you know when a certain car is the real thing or just an imitation? Some are glaringly obvious while some are not so clear-cut and requires a keen eye for detail.

A keen eye for detail

Take the Cobra for example. There is no original version currently in South Africa but there are a host of replica versions designed exactly the same way but only the purists will know the differences that set it apart from the rest. These replicas are still worth a pretty penny with prices ranging anywhere from R700 000 to R2-million.

Exterior parts can easily be designed and crafted but upon closer inspection you can tell if it is the real deal.
