From Toyota releasing a convertible version of its popular HiAce to BMW's 'Moon paint', check out these cool April Fool's Day car pranks.

April 1st means there's always a host of fake news and it's no different in the auto industry.

These days, some of the cars are so convincing and authentic that it's very easy to be fooled. We list some of the best pranks we've come across today.

1. Toyota PieAce taxi

South African taxi owners would be gutted but Toyota Australia has announced its new HiAce Convertible is only destined for their local market.

Toyota Australia claims the people mover "comes with an optional pie oven, the PieAce, making the HiAce Convertible a game changer."

We doubt this would work in Mzanzi...

2. Fiat special-edition Panda Hawaii

The automaker has created the latest version as a tribute to the iconic Fiat Cinquecento that starred in several episodes of the cult TV show ‘The Inbetweeners’, the Panda ‘Hawaii’ will be offered with free insurance to all first-time, teenage drivers.

Finished in distinctive yellow with a pre-dented red passenger door - just like Simon Cooper’s in the show - each one of the 1419 Hawaii Editions made will feature a period-style M-registration plate, black plastic bumpers and a radio-cassette player in place of the standard infotainment system.

The automaker also boasted that the first 14 customers to order a Panda Hawaii will be given four free tickets to Thorpe Park, including queue-jump passes for the front seats of Nemesis Inferno.
