To some, leaving your vehicle at mechanic’s workshop or dealer is like dropping your child off at daycare for the first time. You're understandably nervous at the prospect of leaving your "loved one" in the care of strangers.

The owner of a Ford Mustang had every driver’s car service nightmare come true - a mechanic abusing his muscle car during a joyride.

YouTube user MacAbuzer posted a video showing how his Mustang was "abused" by a mechanic. He said he dropped his car off at the Sawgrass Ford dealership in Sunrise, Florida.

BE WARNED...

MacAbuzer said: "Watch the very end and listen how they conspire! Warranty Fraud! And the mechanic agrees… When I told Sawgrass about this, they brushed it under the carpet and gave excuses for their actions, all are still employed at this dealer. Be Cautious! Sawgrass Ford has file reports against me for trespassing and recording their employees.

"Unbelievable."

Though the sound quality is poor MacAbuzer has added subtitles. At about one minute into the clip, you can hear the mechanic tell another employee: "I'm going to drive this b**ch around redlining it... It's either going to make it worse, or f***ing fix it."

The employee in the passenger seat then says: "So are we just going to drive around in this b***ch and blow it up?"

We're not too sure if the mechanic even tried to fix anything on the customer's car as at 10.51 the two employees are seen getting out of the car after the test ride, opening the bonnet and staring at the engine bay for a few seconds. The mechanic then says: "I'll test it again in the morning.

"I don't want to keep it here because he's in a rental car. If we not going to fix it I can tell him that we did it. That we loosened the cams and put it back on."

MacAbuzer had this to say in his post:

"This is how a mechanic from Sawgrass Ford, Sunrise, Florida, attempted to fix my car.

"I had a small knock from the top of my engine that only occurs at 1000rpm, perhaps it was carbon build up? The mechanic, instead of treating with chemicals (per protocol), decided that it would be easier to run my car in first gear for 8km at redline."

"He discusses with another mechanic in the car how he would like to either fix it or blow it up. My expensive Shelby CS1 wheels were also damaged, along with the transmission during the time they had my car. There was rubber down the sides of my car and 130+km on my car from when the camera was shut off by the shop foreman."

"I gave them two chances to repaint the wheels, until they had to finally replace them. They gave the car back to me with three new wheels and told me that they replaced all four, they lied again.

"I spent much time trying for them to get my wheels balanced after that, and to top it off, now my transmission flare is considered ‘normal’ to them, even though it was operating properly when I dropped it off, they refuse to fix it without an engine light code. My car is not shifting normally from third to fourth gear now and sometimes loses the gear completely.

"After more than a month of going back and forth to the dealer, I have come to the conclusion that this will never get resolved and I am too scared and don’t trust them enough to keep my car out of my site again.

'WHAT A SHAME!'

"After all the issues I had with this dealer, the mechanic still works there servicing other people’s cars. How I kept my cool, I don’t know. My wheels have finally been replaced though but they will not repair the transmission even though I have the extended service plans.

"What a shame!"

Sadly, this type of vehicle abuse isn't new as Wheels24 reported on a separate incident of involving a BMW driver's 1M being disrespected by a dealer.
