LONDON, England - British motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson's recent "offensive" behaviour on the hit show Top Gear has prompted the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to hold an investigation into whether the entire show and its practices "are racist".
Wheels24 reported in May 2014 that Clarkson was in hot water when a story surfaced in the London Daily Mirror of the host using the N-word during a Top Gear episode aired in February 2013. Clarkson denied this:" I did not use the N-word".
CLARKSON APOLOGISES
He would later admit that he uttered the racist slur after viewing the footage several times.
The 54-year-old subsequently apologised in a video clip: Clarkson begs for forgiveness.
Clarkson managed to escape the axe but now it seems the actions of the host has embroiled the entire show into disrepute.
The BBC's TV controller has ordered a full investigation into the shows cultures and practices.
