ENSCHEDE, Netherlands - Apollo Tyres has named Luis Ceneviz, CEO of Apollo Tyres South Africa, as CEO of Apollo Vredestein. Ceneviz succeeds Rob Oudshoorn who left the company after 18 years as its CEO in December 2012.

Oudshoorn has joined the executive board of Pons Holding, a Dutch trading and services company.

‘VALUABLE SERVICES’

Neeraj Kanwar, vice-chairman and managing director of Apollo Tyres, lauded Oudshoorn for his "valuable services" to the company.

Kanwar said: "Post the Apollo acquisition. Rob was active in the integration process of both the companies and has played a leadership role in the growth and profitability of Apollo Vredestein."

Oudshoorn joined the then-independent Vredestein in 1994 after 13 years with Group Michelin where he held a number of international executive positions.

Ceneviz has more than 30 years' experience in the tyre industry, having worked with Apollo Tyres and Goodyear.

Riaz Haffejee was appointed CEO of Apollo Tyres South Africa earlier in January 2013.
