Cape Town - An updated Lexus LX has arrived in local showrooms featuring styling tweaks and the addition of a diesel engine option.
The biggest of all Lexus' SUVs features newly sculpted headlights with triple LED 'cylinders'. LED technology is now being used for the turn, fog- and cornering lights.

The LX rides on two-tone 20" wheels, while the rear design has also received a nip-and-tuck, with the rear tail lamps using a wider design and L-motif.
Sophistication bar none
Inside, it's equipped with leather trim, black facia, metallic accents throughout and new three-spoke steering wheel.
The LX is equipped with a new 32cm multi-media display, which interfaces with the Remote Touch Interface system. This is further augmented by a 11cm colour Thin Film Transistor (TFT) multi information display and Heads Up Display.
For the first time the LX receives a diesel option in the form of a 4.5 litre V8 capable of 195kW/650Nm mated to a six-speed auto. The 5.7 litre V8 petrol, capable of 270kW/530Nm, mated to an eight-speed auto.
Specced to the hilt
The LX gains a rear sunshade, tyre-inflation pressure warning, wireless cellphone charger, heatable seats for both front and second row passengers and roof rails.
In terms of safety it has blind spot monitoring (BSM) with rear cross traffic alert, 10 airbags and a full electronic assistance package in the form of its vehicle dynamics integrated management system (VDIM).
It has Multi Terrain Select for tackling off-road condition which works in conjunction with crawl control to equip the LX with phenomenal off-road ability.
