Toyota kicks off its 2019 model assault with the launch of the next-generation of its popular RAV4 SUV, due to arrive locally later this year.

It might not be as popular as its Fortuner sibling locally though Naamsa sales figures December 2018 reveal the the outgoing compact SUV totalled 410 units.

What to know

The RAV4 is geared at taking to the fight to Volkswagen's Tiguan and Honda's CR-V among others.
