South Africa's favourite bakkie, the Toyota Hilux, has been updated with more power from its 2.8-litre diesel engine. Claimed figures from the four-cylinder diesel are 150kW and 500Nm, up from 130kW and 450Nm in the automatic model.
The manual version also receives a power hike, 130kW and 420Nm increases to 150kW while torque remains at 420Nm. The towing capacity of the automatic model has been increased to 3500kg from 3200kg on all four-wheel drive models.
Underneath the Hilux's skin it sports changes to the suspension and power steering systems with the former recieving front and rear shock absorber tuning, improved leaf spring design and new bushing, the company says.
While styling changes include a bigger grille and front bumper, a fresher headlight design and LED tail lights also feature and new wheel designs.
