The Ford Ranger is right up there, holding its own as the second best-selling bakkie in South Africa with a total of 23 129 units - having its best month ever in September selling a total of 3016 units - slowly creeping into Hilux territory.

Mahindra and GWM are punching well above their weight and edging ever closer to the VW Amarok - with 1878 and 1473 bakkies respectively compared to 2129 units of VW's pick-up.
Mazda's BT-50 also manages decent sales at 499, keeping ahead of the Mitsubishi Triton.
