Imagine sitting in traffic for 12 days? This nightmare happened in China a few years ago and insane traffic jams are still plaguing Chinese motorists.

China's 50-lane highway turns every driver's worst nightmare into reality.

It's a recurring problem but in 2010 the massive tie-up came due to road construction and compounded by a transportation network that has been over capacity for several years.

It lasted 12 days and saw cars crawling only about 1km per day.
